Community Learning
Like the outdoors, children are given the opportunity for learning in their community, through the people, businesses and organisations that make up our towns and countryside. They see and experience the world around them in action and reality, not just through the classroom.
Like Nature Play School, children make regular weekly visits to a range of businesses and locations in our community where they can learn about how the world around them works.
Nature Play School
Nature Play School is a renowned Scandinavian educational programme that Blue School has adopted. This programme is yet another great way to encourage children to explore, question and discover the world around them and connect their learning to their local environment.
The programme provides children with extensive time outdoors where they learn through their experiences with plants, animals, seasons, the weather, earth, sky, water and more. In practice, their learning shifts from the classroom to the outdoors. All the fun and learning that would normally take place inside Blue School simply takes place outside once a week.
Nature Play School is scheduled weekly. Children leave Blue School at 9am and head for a local native bush location and return around midday.
